Short stop in: Copenhagen

A morning run
The most popular routes circle the lakes. They’re centrally located no matter where you start in the city and it’s impossible to get lost. Customize the length of the route according to your fitness and level of ambition by running around one or all of the lakes. Do the whole lot and you’ll have covered 6.3km.

Breakfast
Start your day at the cozy Sidecar on Nørrebro, which serves a hearty breakfast from 8am featuring everything from eggs and toast to chia pudding and croissants. Luxury bakery Mirabelle is the place for outstanding pastries and coffee from 7am. Grød on Jægersborggade offers the city’s hippest porridge, while the fantastic Granola on Værnedamsvej serves breakfast and coffee Parisian style.

Lunch
Like most cities, Copenhagen has a large variety of cuisines to try at lunchtime – whether you’re after Vietnamese, Mexican or just a good burger. If you want a truly unique Copenhagen lunch experience, a classic open-faced sandwich at the bustling Aamanns 1921, washed down with a hand-crafted beer, is a must.

Afternoon work
High-speed WiFi, power outlets for your devices and great coffee are available at Paludan Bogcafé on Fiolstræde, an oasis for freelancers and students alike. Bevar’s on Ravnsborggade is a great retro-chic place to spend a couple of hours behind the screen or, if you’re planning to work through the day, buy a work pass in the cool, open workspace Republikken.

Shopping
Skip Strøget and instead take a trip to the neighborhood around Grønnegade, Gammel Mønt and Pilestræde, where historic buildings form a framework for fancy shops specializing in interior design, fashion and beauty. There are also wonderful bars and cozy cafés. Once you’ve finished shopping, relax in the King’s Garden park.

Dinner and more
If you want to eat well and then go straight to bars and clubs, visit Kødbyen, Copenhagen’s old meatpacking district and the hippest all-night hangout in the city. Eat fish and seafood at Fiskebaren, barbecue at KUL or Mediterranean-inspired sharing plates at Gorilla. Once you’ve eaten your fill, make your way to Jolene to party. And if you’re in the mood for a great bar atmosphere or want to dance the night away, check out nightclubs KB3 and KB18.
